Remote Dynamics Inc has rolled out REDItote, a portable GPS-based mobile asset tracking system, as well as its first REDItote customer, Texas-based Brookshire Brothers grocers.
REDItote is a portable, vehicle-diagnostic system that implements GPS, wireless, and network technologies using the REDI2000 mobile data logging unit (MDLU). REDItote transmits minute-by-minute vehicle information via the GPRS network to Remote Dynamics' network operations center, where the information is managed, stored, and made available over the Internet anytime, from anywhere. Combined with GPS tracking, operators can achieve real-time tracking of their mobile assets and workforce while managing exception-based reports that identify areas of cost and service performance concerns.
Brookshire Brothers, a large regional grocery retailer based in Lufkin TX, came onboard in April as the first REDItote customer. Remote Dynamics is providing service to all 155 of Brookshire Brothers' company-owned vehicles, which included equipping its entire field service mobile workforce with 88 of the new REDItote portable vehicle-tracking units.
