Logistics Management Series courses set

The Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech's 2003 Logistics Management Series (LMS) course offerings have been scheduled. To earn an LMS Certificate, participants must attend all the courses. The 2003 schedule includes these four courses, locations, and dates:

  • World-Class Logistics and Supply Chain Strategy, Atlanta GA, March 18-21
  • World-Class Transportation and Distribution, Orlando FL, May 13-16
  • World-Class Warehousing and Material Handling, Orlando, June 24-27
  • World-Class Inventory Management, Atlanta, Oct 21-24

The series has been expanded to include the Logistics Management e-Series, a suite of computer-based and online professional education programs designed and developed by Dr Edward H Frazelle. This series includes e-courses in logistics and supply chain strategy, transportation and distribution, warehousing and material handling, and inventory management.

IACSC plans to convene at Arizona resort

The 23rd annual Conference and Expo of the International Association for Cold Storage Construction (IACSC) is set for April 25-27, 2003, at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson AZ. Conference programs will feature these topics:

  • Insurance Trends: Brokering your insurance, managing your coverage, controlling costs, worker compensation, health care, construction coverage, and coverage challenges

  • People Management: A process for chief executive officers and managers

  • Construction and Design Trends from the Operator's Vantage

Financial logistics workshop scheduled

The Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech has announced its “FinListics: Financial Logistics Workshop,” scheduled for May 5-6, 2003, in Atlanta GA.

The series has been expanded to include the FinListics e-Course Series, a suite of computer-based and online professional education programs offered by CFOEd LLC, sister company of FinListics Solutions. This series includes three courses: “Speaking Finance,” “Financial-Supply Chain Management Connection,” and “Building a Better Business Case.”

Intermodal Expo, Transcomp set for November

The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) annual membership meeting and International Intermodal Expo is again being co-located with the National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) Exhibition at Transcomp 2003. These events will be held Nov 15-18, 2003, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale FL. In addition, the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) will again be holding its annual fall meeting at the event.
