IAP poised to supply ice in '06 storm season

IAP Worldwide Services Inc has been selected by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to procure and transport emergency packaged ice during the 2006 hurricane season.

Effective immediately, IAP will be on call to transport emergency ice by surface, ocean, or air throughout the continental United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The selection of IAP and another contractor was announced by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District. The new contract expires Sept 30, 2006.

The contract calls for supplying cubed ice that meets health and safety requirements, and for satellite tracking of trucks. To prepare for the hurricane season, IAP has invested in satellite tracking technology and established stand-by alliances with 230 ice suppliers and 350 trucking companies in more than 43 states.
