Thermo King Corp has appointed Erl Swierkowski president — Thermo King North America and Randal Gast vice-president — Thermo King marketing and product management. Swierkowski previously was vice-president and general manager — North American Division. Most recently, Gast served as vice-president of Thermo King global product management.
Hino Diesel Trucks (USA) has named Mitsuo Kikuchi its new president. He replaces Eddie Ishizu, who retires after a 36-year career with Hino. Kikuchi previously was senior executive officer of overseas operations for Hino Motors Ltd. Kidron Inc has named Dale R Shook to the new position of national account sales manager. Shook has worked in sales and marketing management, as well as fleet maintenance, for Gelco Corp and NationaLease.
Eaton Corp announced that Thomas W O'Boyle, senior vice-president and group executive for the company's Truck Group, will retire effective June 30, 2001. James E Sweetnam has been elected to that position effective July 1, 2001. Sweetnam also will be responsible for Eaton's operations in South America and for the Eaton Quality Institute and Eaton Business Excellence program. He had served as vice-president — heavy-duty transmission, clutch, and aftermarket operations of Eaton's Truck Group.
Jack Field, western region sales manager for Alcoa Wheel Products, has retired. His position will be filled by Frank Pedroncelli, who had been market manager — commercial vehicle wheels. Palma S Ferrari, most recently manager — customer service group, has been promoted to commercial manager — North America distributors. Del Sauer has joined Alcoa as Midwest fleet territory manager. He has 27 years of experience in truck sales and management. Linda Scheiblauer has been hired as mid-Atlantic territory manager after most recently serving as general manager of Reynolds Aluminum Supply Co.
Mack Trucks Inc has promoted Michael P Reardon from executive director — marketing to regional vice president — western region. Based in Irvine CA, he is responsible for sales and service activities of 23 Mack distributors in 12 states. Tripmaster Corp has appointed Reno V Ramsey director of engineering. Ramsey succeeds Hare Patnaik, who will continue to serve as an adviser in research and development through his consulting company, HP MicroSystems. Ramsey previously spent 17 years as an engineering manager with ArvinMeritor and its predecessor company, Rockwell International.
Hayes Lemmerz International Inc has named Jeffrey Geist director of business development for its Commercial Highway Group. Geist joined the group as director of engineering when the company acquired CMI International in February 1999. Herbert A Larsen has been named the Commercial Highway Group's director of engineering. He most recently worked for ArvinMeritor as engineering manager of specialty products.
National Truck Leasing System (NationaLease) has named Gerald Yeomans national account executive for the Midwest Region, based in Oakbrook Terrace IL. Yeoman has previous experience at Interstate NationaLease and Penske.
The Council of Logistics Management has selected Maria A McIntyre as its new executive vice-president, succeeding the retiring George A Gecowets. McIntyre has been with the council since 1974, most recently as vice-president — operations.
