Ryder technicians excel in TMC contest

Ryder System Inc's technicians won two of the top three spots at the Technology & Maintenance Council's National Technician Skills Competition — TMCSuperTech2005. Second place was awarded to Matthew Van Zanten of Choctaw OK, and Michael Bogard of Appleton WI received third place.

Van Zanten has been a Ryder technician for more than 10 years and works at the company's Oklahoma City OK facility.He also placed first in the hands-on Electrical Skills Challenge station in the individual round.

Bogard has been a Ryder technician for more than 30 years and works at the company's Neenah WI facility. He also earned the top score in the written portion of the competition and placed first in the hands-on Steering/Suspension Skills Challenge station in the individual round.

Additionally, Ryder technician Kenneth Smith placed first in the Brakes Skills Challenge station in the individual round. He has been with Ryder for more than 15 years and works at the company's Goldsboro NC facility.
