Hirschbach Motor Lines earns multiple IMTA awards

Hirschbach Motor Lines attended the 2016 Iowa Motor Truck Association (IMTA) Management Conference in Cedar Rapids IA recently. The conference provided attendees with tools, knowledge, and expertise needed to be successful in the trucking industry.

New to the schedule this year was the Chairman’s Awards Gala. Gala attendees included officials from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Iowa Department of Transportation, and Iowa Highway Patrol. Hirschbach received multiple awards at the gala.

The IMTA recognized Hirschbach as one of the safest carriers in Iowa by presenting the firm a 2016 Great West Casualty Company Fleet Safety award in this category: General Commodities, Truckload—5 to 10 million miles. Through this annual safety recognition program, Iowa’s carriers are recognized for safety efforts. Taken into consideration are the number of accident-free miles driven, overall safety ratings, and established safety programs within the company.

“Several top-notch carriers applied for the safest carrier award, and to be given an award amongst this distinguished group speaks volumes on the great things we have accomplished,” said Brian Kohlwes, vice-president and general counsel at Hirschbach. “Hirschbach’s greatest asset is our loyal drivers. We appreciate them making a difference out there on the roads.”

IMTA recognized Hirschbach’s Dwayne Capp, John Caza, D J Jeffers, and Wayne Peterson as outstanding professional drivers. As professional truck drivers, these individuals have consistently demonstrated commitment and dedication to excellence and safety, which is displayed by outstanding driving records, years of service, and professional attitudes.

Michael Jelinske, training specialist at Hirschbach, was recognized for participating in and completing the 2016 Leadership Class program. As a member of the IMTA Leadership Class, he took a few days during the past year to participate in leadership sessions at IMTA headquarters. These sessions were set up with presenters from the industry and panelists from IMTA’s membership.
