JTS receives CargoNet’s Best in Cargo Security Award

JTS (Johanson Transportation Service), a leading third-party supply chain solutions provider, has been awarded CargoNet’s Best in Cargo Security Award for its prevention efforts in 2016 in the Small Broker Category (under $1 billion in gross revenue).

CargoNet, a Verisk Analytics (Nasdaq:VRSK) business, helps transportation companies, shippers and other supply chain stakeholders prevent cargo theft and improve recovery rates through secure and controlled information sharing among theft victims, their business partners and law enforcement.

As a CargoNet member, JTS uses the intelligence gathering tools, tips, best practices, training and analytics CargoNet provides to the fullest extent possible. These tools are leveraged to educate JTS shipper customers and carriers about potential risks that have been identified as relevant to their core logistics and shipping activities.

Alicia Ruiz, JTS director of compliance and legal affairs, said, “Our dedicated Carrier Relations team follows strict, proven preventative measures to safeguard our customers from carrier fraud and cargo theft, which results in financial loss, damaged credibility and a disruption in the flow of goods between our customers and their own customers. We are honored that our diligence has been recognized with this award.”

Ruiz accepted the award at the Supply Chain Cargo & Security Summit in Jersey City NJ recently.

“We’re very pleased to recognize Johanson Transportation Service’s security efforts by selecting it as a ‘Best in Security’ winner,” said Anthony Canale, general manager, CargoNet. “JTS has been a CargoNet member since 2013 and has demonstrated a level of concern for the security of its customer’s cargo at a level rarely seen. We are proud to recognize these efforts and grateful for their continued support.”

JTS has a whitepaper available addressing how to prevent carrier fraud and cargo theft, which can be requested by emailing [email protected]
