United Fresh announces officers, directors

Brian W Kocher, United Fresh Produce Association immediate past chairman and president and CEO of Castellini Company LLC, Newport KY, has announced the slate of new officers and directors nominated to serve on the United Fresh board of directors, effective at its April 26, 2017 meeting in Hilton Head SC.

Ascending to board chairman is Susan Reimer-Sifford, director, produce and bakery purchasing and distribution for Darden, in Orlando FL. Nominated as chairman-elect is Cindy Jewell, vice-president of marketing, California Giant Berry Farms, Watsonville CA. Nominated as secretary-treasurer is Danny Dumas, vice-president–North American sales and product management, Del Monte Fresh Produce NA Inc, Coral Gables FL.

Tony Freytag, current United Fresh chairman of the board and senior vice-president, sales and marketing, for Crunch Pak, in Cashmere WA, will move to the position of immediate past chairman and remain on the board and the Executive Committee.

These industry leaders have been nominated to serve as new members of the United Fresh Board for a two-year term beginning April 2017:

•Christian Harris, vice-president–fresh produce, US Foods in Rosemont IL

•Jim Hay, North America regional business director, DuPont Crop Protection, Wilmington DE
