England Logistics has appointed Roger Dean account manager for its Southern California operations. Previously, he was an account manager for England Logistics serving Unimark Foods' McAllen TX facility.
Capt John W Sullivan has been promoted to the newly created position of director-vessel operations and offshore labor relations, for Matson Navigation Co in San Francisco CA. Sullivan served most recently as Matson's director-offshore labor relations. Paul A Johnescu has been promoted to the newly created position of director-facilities and equipment engineering. Johnescu most recently was director-facilities and maintenance in San Francisco.
AmeriCold Logistics has named Curtis Mitchell regional vice-president. Based in Sacramento CA, he will oversee and manage operations in Southern California, Arizona, and Utah. Mitchell comes from Millard Refrigerated Services, where he served two years as vice-president of sales and operations.
First Fleet Corp has hired Christopher Gillis of Davie FL to serve as vice-president-finance. A certified public accountant, Gillis will be based at corporate offices in Fort Lauderdale FL. Eric Ostergaard of Weston FL has joined First Fleet Corp as vice-president-Equity Group and will be based in Fort Lauderdale.
Total Logistic Control (TLC) has named Rick Brower vice-president of information services. Ron Denisienko has been appointed director of operations. He joined the company in 1999. Walter Weyer is now facility manager at the TLC Rochelle (IL) Logistic Center. He joined TLC in 1999. Perry Slagter joins TLC as facility manager of the Kalamazoo (MI) Logistic Center 1. Paul Raffa was promoted to facility manager at the Kalamazoo Logistic Center 2 after 12 years with the company.
GE Capital Fleet Services has promoted Richard Neff to president and general manager-small fleet services and Bob Williams to senior vice-president-North American operations. He replaces Jeff Kiesel, who has been appointed business leader for the newly established GE Small Business Solutions. Williams replaces Marian Powell, who was named senior vice-president-e-commerce.
AmeriCold Logistics has appointed Tom Ryan executive vice-president-operations. He had served as senior vice-president of distribution operations since URS Logistics and AmeriCold merged in January 1998. Michael O'Connell has been named senior vice-president-distribution operations for AmeriCold, replacing Ryan. O'Connell most recently was regional vice-president of the Atlanta division.
Suppliers Deborah M Hoyes has been appointed marketing manager for the Parts and Service Division of Morgan Corp. She previously served three years with Montgomery & Partners Inc of Reading PA. Mark H Hetrich has been named materials and logistics manager. Before joining Morgan, he was materials manager for Fellowes Mfg.
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has named Pierre Abboud vice-president of engineering. He served most recently as leader of the ESA-Electronic Controls & Sensors Product Group of Honeywell's Engines & Systems Aerospace Unit.
Eaton Corp has named John M Way as national sales manager for the Spicer Tire Management System. Way joined Eaton in 1972 and was named national accounts sales manager in 1980.
Nissan Diesel America Inc (NDA) has appointed Masaru Kobori executive vice-president-administration. Kobori held previous executive assignments in Marubeni Corp's construction department in Japan, and Nissan Diesel Motor Co's operations in both Thailand and the Philippines. He replaces Isao Kozuka, who recently left NDA to head Nissan Motor Co's operations in New Zealand.
International Marketing Inc (IMI) has added Chris Kostyrka as a territory sales representative. Kostyrka, whose territory includes the Mid-Atlantic states, comes to IMI from Napa Auto Parts, where he served as manager of outside sales.

Navistar International has named Dan Lindberg vice-president and chief financial officer for the International Truck Group. Lindberg was most recently the director of finance for the International parts business. He succeeds Bill Ohrt, who accepted a position in the Detroit MI area.
Alcoa Wheel Products International has promoted Frank C Pedroncelli to market manager-commercial vehicle wheels. He replaces Otis Matlock, who has become operations manager- Alcoa subassembly and logistics. Pedroncelli served most recently as Alcoa account manager to Ford Motor Co in Detroit MI.
Ralph Shinn, the northeastern regional sales manager for Trans/Air Mfg Corp, died Nov 13, 1999, after a long illness. Shinn, who was active in many industry-related associations, is survived by his wife, two daughters, and several grandchildren.
