Packerland pays tribute to its safe drivers

Packerland Transport honored more than 100 drivers at a driver performance awards event in De Pere WI recently.

Special recognition went to Wayne Meyer for attaining 30 years of safe driving during his career at Packerland. Meyer, of Whitelaw WI, started with Packerland June 28, 1967. He is also one of four Packerland drivers who have logged three million safe miles.

David Delzer reached a career milestone by accumulating one million safe miles since 1990. Delzer, of Lena WI, an owner-operator with Packerland since 1984, was welcomed into the Packerland Million Mile Club.

Jules and Beverly Van Gheem of De Pere and Bill and Diane Vaughn of Marshfield WI were recognized for reaching two million safe miles as team drivers. Both the Van Gheems and the Vaughns have been owner-operators with Packerland since 1989.
