Tyson offering differential pay for military duty

Tyson Foods Inc will provide differential pay for all team members called to active National Guard or military reserve duty since Sept 11, 2001. The company will make up the difference between compensation for military duty and the normal salary or wages of a team member before being called into duty.

The move was announced in conjunction with the signing by John Tyson, company chairman and chief executive officer, of a statement of support for the guard and reserve, which recognizes those branches of the military as essential to the strength of our nation and the well-being of our communities.

The Tyson Foods human resources department has begun work to identify team members who have been on military leave since 9/11.
