Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ:WERN), a premier transportation and logistics provider, has been honored with a SmartWay Excellence Award for outstanding environmental performance leadership by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the fourth time.

The SmartWay Excellence Award, reserved for the top-performing SmartWay partners, is the EPA’s highest recognition for demonstrated leadership in freight supply chain energy and environmental performance.
Since 2007, Werner has reduced its carbon footprint by more than 2.2 million tons and saved more than 203 million gallons of fuel.
