CHEP is launching a series of services to help companies in the consumer goods manufacturing, fresh food, grocery, and retail industries optimize their supply chains and support development of corporate social responsibility programs.
The Solutions Portfolio, which is being announced at the Food Marketing Institute Connect Conference in Chicago IL this week, is now available in North America.
Services in the CHEP Solutions Portfolio address specific challenges now facing the extended supply chain of the retail industry, such as product damage, failed unit loads, and empty trailer miles. CHEP has provided solutions that encompass enterprise logistics, supply chain platforms, transportation, international trade, manufacturing, warehousing, harvesting, processing, distribution, and store fulfillment, in addition to sustainability and supplier diversity.
CHEP partners are already seeing the benefits of these Solutions Portfolio services. A major retailer collaborated closely with CHEP to apply the new transportation solution and is projected to fill almost one million empty trailer miles in 2015, generating $2.5 million in incremental revenue. Similarly, three major grocery retailers using the unit load optimization solution reduced damage at their distribution centers and each saved about $300,000 throughout their supply chains.
Offering a range of logistics and operational platforms and support services, CHEP is part of the Brambles Group, operator of a portfolio that includes IFCO, a provider of reusable plastic containers (RPCs) to the fresh food supply chain globally.
